Recipes and Favorite Wine Pairings

Olive, Tomato, Prosciutto, and Parmesan Palmiers

Recipe by Aida Mollenkamp, Salt and Wind

These Palmiers are my favorite wine snack and so easy to make ahead of time, freeze, and pop in the oven.

Champagne and fried food

Champagne’s acidity LOVES fried food. So when you’ve got bubbles, don’t be afraid to go high-brow/low-brow with it. Fried chicken, french fries, and chips make for magical pairings with bubbles.

Sauvignon Blanc and goat cheese

What grows together, goes together and the Loire Valley is home to goat cheese as well as some of the world’s greatest SB - go with it. Plus, the high acidity of both foods make them a match made in french heaven.

Chardonnay, Apples, and Baked Cheeses

If Sauvignon Blanc is Springs grape, Chardonnay is Fall’s. Lean into orchard fruits, soft gooey baked cheeses, and pretty much all the root vegetables you’d like.
